Although last year’s OrSem was her first hosting gig, Vannah is no stranger to the stage. A seasoned performer who has dabbled in musicals and theatre since kindergarten, she is a regular in Tanghalang Ateneo productions—home to many masters of the spotlight.
Her dazzling persona, infectious smile and bohemian-inspired outfits have become some of her trademarks, inside and outside the spotlight. As the only returning host amongst the six, she sets out to start her senior year with a big bang, OrSem-style.
What made you decide to return this year?
It’s really something I love to do. It’s fun to share the stage with new people and bring the hype of OrSem to the freshmen! Since it’s my last year, there’s also a lot of nostalgia in the experience.
Give us an interesting tidbit about yourself.
I was the Corps Commander of our CAT [Citizens' Army Training] in high school! Also, I’ve been told that I look like Vanessa Hudgens and Rosario Dawson.
What makes this year’s OrSem different than the previous one?
It definitely leveled up. I’m talking CADS-level dance practice. It’s really been turning us all into triple threats. Our practices were a bit more chill two weeks ago, but this week, it’s been a three-hours-a-day, five-days-a-week thing. Definitely intense.
