A self-proclaimed “jologs beauty queen” Raisa Tabusalla is a triple threat. Dancing, singing, and acting—she can do it all. Raissa is a BlueRep and Ateneo Dancesports Club member, with a scholarship in a dance studio under her belt.
Despite her demure appearence, though, Raisa doesn’t take herself too seriously and can run with any type of humor. Expect this half-Indonesian and half-Filipino beauty to wow you with the talents she has under her sleeves, and she’s also not afraid to poke fun at herself—especially in front of more than 2,000 people.
What brought you to audition for OrSem host?
Ateneo always spreads the idea of never limiting yourself, and I followed that and went for the audition. I wouldn’t have wanted to look back on it and ask myself what it would’ve been like if I auditioned. I live my life with no regrets!
Tell us about a bit about yourself.
I’ve been performing since grade 4, doing everything from singing to acting to dancing. I’ve always made it a point not to limit myself. I have a prim and proper side to me, but dig a bit deeper and I also have a jologs side. That was my edge when auditioning for OrSem: I was the jologs beauty queen.
What can we expect from you onstage?
I just try to be myself. In theater, you have to be natural to be the best performer you can be. Everything you project has to come from somewhere [within] the real you. Pakapalan lang naman ng mukha, as they would say. The moment you show shyness, people will easily be able to spot that.
