Having the right amount of swagger is an imperative trait of being a host; Jazmin Reyes has no shortage of that.

She may appear proper but indeed, looks can be deceiving. Quick wit and a thirst for spontaneity is what distinguishes this spunky Chinita from the rest. Her hosting and correspondent experience include stints in Candy’s Council of Cool and Magic 89.9.

What brought you to audition for OrSem?

I really enjoyed the hosts of my OrSem experience as a freshman and I enjoyed the experiences I’ve had at hosting before—so why not give it a try? I was lucky enough to be chosen, and I intend to do [the role] justice.

Where can you be found on campus?

In the arms of the Lord! (laughs) But on a serious note, I usually hang out at Matteo or JSEC, or in my car (which, by the way, is a Honda Jazz with my name on the plate!).

What shall we expect from you onstage?

I’m not afraid to show my personality or do anything outrageous. I like to reach out to the audience and involve them—communication is a big thing in the performance arts. It’s always about making them remember me and the good time they had when I performed, rather than me remembering my own achievement or performance.
