All of us who grew up in the 90’s probably share one thing in common –Pixar movies has taught us to see the possible in the impossible. It showed that there is indeed magic in the everyday things that are usually taken for granted.

But as we outgrow that cartoon stage, reality begins to sink in. It is natural of course that ten years after the last Toy Story movie was released, we are older and more skeptical filmgoers with a little less magic in life.

Toy Story 3, the third and final installment in the series, is a perfect and fitting send-off for a story that so many kids grew up to love.

Andy is now seventeen years old and off to college. While time has made the toys sad that Andy hasn’t played with them, Woody remains loyal to his owner. In the end, Andy decides that he’ll only take Woody to his new life in college with the rest of the toys being stored in the attic.

By sheer mistake and circumstance, the toys are shipped off to a local daycare center where they are tortured and bullied by mean, but also previously loved, toys. The adventure revolves around the toys finding their way back home to Andy and proving that they will always be there for him no matter what.

Ultimately, the story reaches a heart-warming climax that would truly touch the inner child within every viewer.

We meet the same cast of characters we met in the previous movies: Woody (voiced by Tom Hanks), Buzz (Tim Allen), Jessie (Joan Cusack), Rex, Hamm, Slink, Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head and the Pizza Planet Aliens.

Woody is still the same nostalgic little cowboy you can’t help but want to hug. Macho Buzz Lightyear is still fixated with adventure and has the most amusing scenes as a sexy Latin dancer. The aliens are still as cute as ever, Rex remains the big yet adorable dinosaur with a bazillion fears and Buster, the family dog, is still around but less sprightly and packing extra pounds.

There are a few unfamiliar faces in the mix, like Lots-O’-Huggin’ Bear, a strawberry scented and patriarchal teddy bear with abandonment issues. Barbie and Ken, the always fun, flirty and fierce couple whose lines will guarantee to leave nonstop laughs.

For those who believed in the magic of the first two movies, this is a film to see. Not only does it bid farewell to Woody and Buzz and the other lovable characters but also calls to mind the times when we had to let go of a lot of our childhood ideals as we mature.

Whether it is your bright colored Lego blocks or Barbie and her dream house, Toy Story 3 allows you to cherish the joy that your toys once brought during your childhood days. Kudos to Pixar for ending an epic trilogy with a film that will probably remain in the hearts of every 90s kid— to infinity and beyond.
