6. Org life = Storage bonus
It costs P40 and an hour waiting in line to rent a locker for a semester. However, this isn’t your only storage option in school. Assuming that your student organization is friendly enough to allow it, your org room is actually a good place to stow things you don’t need at the moment. Granted, it’s not going to be as secure as having space kept under a lock and key. The upside here is that the frequent trips to MVP actually give you more chances to casually acquaint yourself with the regular tambays of your org room.
7. Saving graces
At one point in your college life you will find yourself weighed down with a never ending list of things to do. In such troubled times, people like Ate Alma, our ever-smiling photocopying lady along SEC-B foyer; Mang Tony, our go-to kuya for fixing unresponsive projectors at the Communications Department; and the Manongs in Escaler Hall who provide everything from earphones to extension cords, will be the light shining at the end of your never-ending academic tunnel.
8. Who’s who
Because of their high ranking positions, they might be the last people you want to get stuck with on an elevator ride. But if the occasion happens where you find yourselves side-by-side, enduring the awkwardness of being in close proximity to each other, you better know who Fr. Ben Nebres or Rob Roque are! You wouldn’t want to make a fool out of yourself in front of the President of the Ateneo and the President of the Ateneo Sanggunian.
9. Don’t let it rain on your parade
Part of the Ateneo experience is running in between classes with fellow students trying to outrun the rain, with no umbrella for protection. This frequently happens during the months of June and July. It’s a given that you’ll get wet, maybe even drenched if you’re not careful. Your key to a dry and clean first semester is to stay away from uncovered walkways, and opt for the covered route going to your classrooms. It’s best to carry along a small umbrella with you, or else prepare to get your shoes, feet and socks more than wet— they’ll be soaking with mud too!
10. Internet Life Lines
The Internet serves not only to save us from boredom, but from the perils of the academic workload too. Websites like AISIS, regcom.ateneo.edu, regblue.atspace.com, and math reviewers found on Multiply come in handy during enlistment season and finals week. From knowing what teachers to take and what kind of problems to master, put all that time spent online to good use!
