In Cocktales, “stressed” is “desserts” spelled backwards. As the newest dessert restaurant put up by Lester Yu, founder of Fruitas, Cocktales promises the same quality and freshness in its products’ presentation and taste.
The sleek, modern décor, complemented with light, techno background music and subdued lighting, creates a very tranquil atmosphere that makes the restaurant a perfect spot to unwind and indulge—whichever way one wants it.
The unspoken philosophy in Cocktales seems to empower its customers to choose. Included in the menu are options to have your drinks served virgin or spiked, or to have your desserts served in a solo size or a serving to share.
If you decide on an alcoholic cocktail, then the Vanilla Lychee Margarita (Php 125) is a recommendable option to start with. Not only does the perfectly rounded ice cream scoop look beautiful atop the white-glazed slush, but as the vanilla slowly melts and blends with the tropical kick of lychee, the effect is lusciously divine. An additional small dose of alcohol and the margarita really brings out the flavor.
Its Jungle Juice (Php 150), on the other hand, is a tasty mix of different fruits. Though the serving is a bit small, every sip of this beautiful, strawberry-rimmed refreshment tastes like a fruit fiesta. For all the flavors competing for the attention of your taste buds, this concoction is surprisingly light and consistent.
Light and affordable, the Evening Calm Tea (Php 50) is a great way to cleanse your palate. This simple beverage is the perfect remedy for a sugar headache and a pleasant way to relax and clear your mind.
For those who want desserts, Cocktales’ Mango Bananarama (solo: Php 120, to share: Php 180) is a fresh twist to two favorite fruits. This combination of the familiar flavors of mango and banana, along with more exotic ingredients such as tapioca, sago, and sweet rice balls, makes this dessert truly unique.
Cocktales also serves hot dishes in its menu, like the Shepherd’s Pie (Php 125). The pepper sauce tastes delicious over a steaming bowl of mashed potatoes, ground beef and mushrooms. With its mild flavor, it’s a good complement to many of Cocktales’ stirred drinks such as the Long Island Iced Tea (Php 75).

Satisfying, classic and simple, the Cocktales’ Shepherd’s Pie is everything that comfort food should be. The serving size may be a little small for most people but its affordable price more than makes up for it.
Written on a poster by Cocktales’ entrance are the words “Life is an ice cream, enjoy it before it melts.” With its extensive array of fun and unique desserts and beverages, the Cocktales experience is surely one to enjoy and look forward to.
