As the youngest host among the six, sophomore Stephanie Sy has the most to prove this coming OrSem.
Tucking her long straight hair behind her ears, Stephie provides a cool contrast to her more gregarious co-hosts’ enthusiastic outbursts. She keeps up a calm and composed stream of chatter by answering questions smoothly and quickly.
As a kid, Stephie already showed an affinity for hamming it up in front of people. She and her cousins would often make little movies on the camcorder to show to their families. Stephie says, “It’s not hard for me to slip into a role. ‘Cause if you really love something you’re doing, you just see it as something fun.”
An artist as well as a host, Stephie lists drawing and editing with Adobe Photoshop as some of her major passions. While this might mislead people into boxing her simply as the shy artist type, Stephie doesn’t find it confusing to balance her artistic side with her real love: performing.
Described as being bubbly and full of energy, Stephie does not hesitate to put herself out there. “I joined almost everything,” she laughs, being interested in everything from dancing to singing to acting, except sports. “I also tried doing sports, but I suck at it.”
Although she might feel nervous about getting up onstage, Stephie is well up to the challenge. With her special mix of grace, composure, and spontaneity, Stephie is definitely one of the hosts to watch out for this year.
YAY! go mommy! HAHAHA galing mo talaga!
